The City of Westminster is yet another district of London defining the western area of the city centre. With its creation, the City of Westminster was awarded "City" status. This district is one of the most important, as here lies the greatest part of the West End including the residence of the British government, Westminster Palace, Whitehall, and the Royal Courts of Justice. The Westminster Abbey, the place of coronation of the British Monarchy, can also be found in this district. This area is the home of most of London's most famous tourist attractions and the West Ends acclaimed night life.

Covent Garden

Covent Garden is an area in the City of Westminster, well known for the Royal Opera House in the north and its flower, fruit and vegetable market. The market takes place in Covent Gardens specially built Piazza, which is a huge open air site, with plenty of indoor area, for the shops and stands. Due to this market and most likely because of its bubbly and colourful goings on, this part of the district is also a well known cultural meeting point.
Covent Garden was originally a convent garden, which was property of the Benedictine order and was London's largest vegetable market. It's buildings of Italian architecture mirror it's surroundings.
This market offers a great variety, and is the location of the Tea house a shop in which you can buy all variations and flavours of tea.
