Location
John St is in the historic area of Bloomsbury in Central London. You're in the heart of London but away from the crowds. Nearest tube stations are Russell Square (6 min walk) and Chancery Lane (7 mins), but you'll often find it as quick to walk to many of the main attractions. The British Museum is a 10 min walk and Charles Dickens' House (he wrote Oliver Twist here), is 1 minute away. London's West End with its fabulous shopping (Oxford St, Regent St, Carnaby St), theatres, art galleries and landmarks (Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben) is close by. Covent Garden (street theatre, opera house and shopping piazza) is an easy walk (25 mins). Heading East, you can stroll around the City of London, Europe's financial centre with its famous buildings (St Paul's Cathedral, the Gherkin, medieval Tower of London, Tower Bridge). John St is close to Great Ormond Street Hospital, National Neurological & Neurosurgery Hospital, University College London, Kings College, LSE & Law Courts.

Exterior
There is no outside space with this property, but for children, at the end of the street there is Coram's Fields, a delightful park with swings, slides, climbing frames, sand pit, farm animals and astro-turf football pitches. This is a children only park and adults must be accompanied by a child to enter. For adults, Russell Square is a pleasant green space with a cafe, fountains and wildlife. London's royal parks, Hyde Park, St James & Regents Park provide a good respite from the pacey metropolitan life.

If you have difficulty with stairs, it really isn't suitable as there are two flights to the entrance and a further flight to the bedrooms. Please try not to bring a car, the parking in London is awful. Public transport is excellent with underground stations and bus routes near by and of course, famous London black taxicabs are always available.
