Notting Hill is an attraction in itself - Portobello Road markets and antiques and the incredible diversity of restaurants and nightlife on your doorstep is amazing - all culminating in the Notting Hill Carnival every August, one of the biggest cultural festivals in Europe.

Kensington is a little more sedate but definitely worth wandering through - Holland Park Opera is another annual attraction and, of course, the South Kensington museums are in walking distance - Natural History, Victoria & Albert, Science Museum and National Geographic Society.
